Pearl Community Service Award

The “Pearl Community Service Award" was developed to honor persons who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication. The honoree selected should serve as a role model for compassion, and service and be striving to make the world a better place. He/ she should have a passion for helping others in his/her community.

Criteria:

Persons being nominated for this award will have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion, and service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities in one year. The charitable activities / events or service listed on the award application cannot be part of the nominee’s job description or duties and the individual cannot receive any monetary or personal benefits from their involvement.

Upward Development Corporation is excited to announce our "2022 Pearl Community Service Award" honorees. Please help us congratulate both Ms. Linda Jones and Rep. El-Mahdi Holly on receiving this year's award. We looking forward to working with Ms. Jones and Rep. Holly as they continue to help support our communities and those who live within them.

Rep. El-Mahdi Holly

Linda Jones (left):

Is the Owner/ Executive Director of Feeding God's People Community Food Pantry. Feeding God's People Community Food Pantry is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides a source of free healthy and nutritious food items in the city of Stockbridge, GA. Linda's food pantry often provides other critical resources such as nutrition education, seasonal food baskets, voter awareness, and back to school supplies. The mission of Feeding God's People Community Food Pantry is to directly serve local residents who suffer from hunger and food insecurity within the Henry County area.

Rep. El-Mahdi Holly (right):

Is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 111. Representative Holly earned a Bachelor of Arts from Morehouse College. He went on to receive a Masters of Public Administration from the University of West Georgia with a specialized concentration in strategic planning and management of public service organizations. During his time in office he has strived to help better Henry County and its citizens through employment growth, education advancements, and community development.
